Phu Quoc: The Pearl Island of Vietnam

Location

Phu Quoc Island is the largest island in Vietnam and is located in the Gulf of Thailand. 

It belongs to Kien Giang province which is far from Rach Gia about 120km and 45 km from Ha Tien town. 

Transportation

The best way to get to Phu Quoc Island is by plane. There are flights to Phu Quoc from major cities in Vietnam, as well as from some international cities. 

Visitors can also take a ferry to Phu Quoc from Ha Tien or Rach Gia on the mainland.

Weather

Phu Quoc is warm and comfortable year-round, with an average temperature hovering around 27°C. It’s coolest in the dry season between October and March, and hottest in April and May, when the rain begins to take hold. By July, the rainy season is in full swing, bringing cooler temperatures until October.

Bún quậy: A noodle soup made with fish broth, rice noodles, fish cakes, and vegetables. The soup is unique for its way of preparation, where the noodles are stirred vigorously while cooking, giving them a chewy texture.
