Chile Citizens are EXEMPTED from Vietnam Visa for up to 90 days.
Chile citizens with the valid passport can visit Vietnam for tourism, visiting companies, attending conferences,… without a Visa for the period of less than 90 days.
For those who want to stay in Vietnam for longer than 90 days, or for other purposes, you are required to get a Visa to enter Vietnam.
There are 3 ways to apply for a Vietnam Visa for Chile citizens: Apply Vietnam E-Visa, apply for Visa on Arrival or apply Visa at Vietnamese Embassy.
1. Applying Vietnam Visa at Vietnam Embassy
There is a Vietnam Embassy in Chile where you can apply for the Visa.

Applicants can submit documents in person at the specific Vietnam Embassy or apply by mail to the Embassy.

2. Applying Vietnam Electronic Visa online (Vietnam E-Visa)
At the moment, The maximum validity of the Vietnam E-Visa is 90 days. Therefore, Chile passport do not need to apply for the Vietnam E-Visa to enter Vietnam for less than 90 days.
3. Applying Vietnam Visa online (Vietnam Visa on arrival)
For those who live far from the Vietnam Embassy in Chile and do not wish to send away their passport, a Vietnam visa on arrival is a good choice. Instead of getting a visa directly at the Vietnam Embassy, you will end up picking up your visa at one of Vietnam International Airports.
How to apply for a Tourist Vietnam visa on arrival?
The Tourist Visa on arrival is also valid for a maximum of 30 days, while Chile passport holders are exempted from Vietnam Visa for up to 90 days. Therefore, Chile citizens do not need to apply for the tourist Visa on arrival to enter Vietnam for the stay less than 90 days.
How to apply for a Business Vietnam visa on arrival?
Only eligible for Chile passport holders who will enter Vietnam for business working with a company in Vietnam and already have a valid sponsor company in Vietnam.
The process of Getting Business Visa on arrival (DN visa):
- Step 1. Complete the Vietnam visa online
- Step 2: Make payment of service fee online
- Step 3: Send all required documents and submit to Government website by Sponsor company
- Step 4: Get the approval letter via email
- Step 5. Get visa stamped upon arrival at a Vietnam airport

Required documents:
- Sponsor company’s token USB
- Notarized business license copy
- Passport scan with company stamp
- The staff of your company in Vietnam who has contract with this company/organization will present at the Vietnam Immigration office (if required)
How long Chile passport holders can stay in Vietnam with a Business Visa on arrival?
You can stay in Vietnam for up to 180 days with single or multiple-entry.
Additional Note:
In addition to a valid visa for Vietnam, travelers with Chile passports should meet the following Vietnam entry requirements:
- Chile passport should be valid for at least 6 month following arrival date in Vietnam;
- Chile passport has at least 2 blank pages.
