History

Bánh canh Bến Có has been famous for more than 20 years and is associated with the location of Ben Co Hamlet, Nguyet Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province. According to local people, bánh canh Bến Có has been presented since the 1980s by the mother of 6 children, who opened it for sale at the foot of Ben Co bridge. 

Over time, it became a stall and eventually became a large and famous restaurant in Tra Vinh. After the mother passed away, the six children in the family continued to inherit her mother’s career. Thanks to family recipe secrets, they have strongly developed the brand. 

Nowadays, bánh canh Bến Có has expanded its brand to the whole Western provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. 

Specialties

Thick noodle is made from the first rice of the season to create large, soft, chewy, and milky white noodles.

The broth is stewed from pork bones for many hours to create sweetness, fresh ingredients and secret seasoning create a unique flavor. To cook this dish, onions, purple onions, and grilled squid must be added to the broth to create a more fragrant and sweet taste. There are many ingredients to eat with this dish such as pork trotters, lean meat, muscle meat, and pork intestines.
