History
Bún xiêm lo is a dish originating from Cambodia and imported to Long An province. This is Khmer cuisine with ingredients including snakehead fish broth served with Mien noodles and dipped in chili salt.
Specialties
The broth is the most important part of this dish. Snakehead fish is simmered thoroughly in a mixture of broth and turmeric powder. Unlike other types of broth, this dish has the natural sweet taste of snakehead fish, making the noodle soup more special.
The snakehead fish meat is made into patties, cooked in a pot of broth and then cut into small pieces, finally displayed on top of a bowl of noodle soup.
The rice noodle used for this dish is Xiêm rice noodle with fine, chewy, and long noodles.
