Chả cá Lã Vọng is said to have originated with the family of Doan Xuan Dao in 1871, a resident of Cha Ca Street in Hanoi. Doan Xuan Dao was the one who created his own recipe for marinating Cha Ca, which gives the dish its characteristic delicious flavor.
The Doan family’s Chả cá Lã Vọng restaurant has been open for 5 generations, has existed for more than a century, and is famous at home and abroad. The street where this restaurant is located in Hanoi has now been renamed “Chả Cá Town”.
Main ingredient
